This will spread the rain north, supported by a deformation field north of the upper low offshore. This new upper low will begin to interact with the low offshore, pulling it north in a kind of "Fujiwara" effect where the two lows begin to pivot around a common center. Meanwhile, a new upper trough will start to dive south through Quebec today. Low pressure, both surface and aloft, will be well off the coast south of Western Nova Scotia early this morning bringing rain to southern and eastern areas. Low pressure will remain stalled over the Maritimes through Friday. Low pressure off the coast will gradually move north over Nova Scotia today into Tuesday.
